The Sixties in Fashion

The 1960s were ushered in with the era of Camelot -- picture Jacqueline Kennedy in a sleek column dress, standing next to John F. Kennedy, in tails.  The early era was defined by Mrs. Kennedy, with everything from shirtdresses with full skirts, to the formal dresses seen in the fashion pages.  Once the space age started, you'll notice things starting to slim down and shorten up, till you get to the Twiggy minis -- remember teachers measuring your mini to make sure you met the dress code?

Sewing patterns of the 1960s are always printed, so you can easily make these outfits without any special skills.  We have a selection of easy sewing patterns as well, for those just beginning to sew.  Search keyword easy to find them!
