Making History 3012
22" size
Details:
This is a reproduction sewing pattern.
A delightfully whimsical addition to my vintage reproduction pattern line, this pattern is for five different fabric hats that can be made to match your ensemble. These hats are sporty, tailored, or quirky and are a fun base to use for your creative millinery work and can provide a fun base for your embroidery or trimmings.
View I is a tailored cap or beret that can be made in a solid color with contrast ribbons. Top-stitching can add interest on the seam lines. The separate pieces also look snappy when made in coordinating fabrics, as the top is cut in four different pieces.
View II is a smart pixie cap that can lace or button up the side. The pattern calls for hand made thread eyelets, but it can be equally adorable when using fun color eyelets for interest.
View III is a tailored hat that resembles a ladylike fedora. Playful ribbons create a bow in front for added interest.
View IV is a wide picture hat with button on straps, which is perfect for sun dresses, beach pajamas, or swimsuits.
View V is a very collegiate style cap constructed of straps and buttons that looks particularly smart when paired with a colorful scarf (scarf pattern not included).
You are getting a printed copy of a digitally remastered vintage pattern on good quality bond paper with print out instructions. This reproduction is true to the original period pattern lines. The size chart can be enlarged in this listing if you are anxious to get your supplies for this project.
Instructions from the original instruction sheet are included. Note that vintage instructions may be difficult for the modern sewer to comprehend. Intermediate dressmaking knowledge and a muslin mock up of the pattern are suggested, as vintage fit, ease, and construction are different than modern standards.
